E-Commerce in Post Covid-19 China
Master your understanding of e-commerce platforms in post Covid-19 China.
About:
During the Covid-19 lockdown, Chinese consumers did most of their shopping online. As a result, from mid-February to mid-March sales on some e-commerce platforms rose by more than 30%. In order to compensate for the lack of offline shopping, many brands start organising virtual shopping tours. Now live e-commerce is thriving. It’s expected that by the end of 2020, the live e-commerce market will reach 23.6 billion RMB. Understanding the e-commerce landscape in China will be one of the determining factors to succeed in China in 2020 and 2021.
A note from Ashley:
In 2019, online retail sales in China reached 10.63 trillion RMB. The Covid-19 outbreak sped up innovation in traditional retail businesses and enhanced the implementation of technology to merge online and offline channels. Although Covid-19 has challenged many businesses, it’s also brought opportunities for brands to reach out to Chinese consumers via e-commerce and virtual shopping, and to build trust by providing more personalized services.
